Art to love for a lifetime

Hi, I’m Rebekah Kington, a trained artist and graphic designer living in Brisbane with a creative career spanning 20 years.

For as long as I can remember, the raw beauty of the natural environment has captivated me.

Working from my studio in Brisbane, my aim is to bring a little piece of this beauty into your home.

Recent work

My latest collections (ocean and seaweed) are inspired by my travels along the remote coastlines of Tasmania, Victoria, North Queensland and New Zealand.

Along these landscapes, with their many wild forms and expressions, I was lucky to stumble upon (quite literally!) our coastal plant and marine life at its most intricate and fragile.

The hand-drawn pieces capture the detail we might otherwise overlook, from the tiniest barbs on a coastal bloom, to the sway of seaweed, to the gleam of a fish scale.

Materials

For most of my work, I use recycled, repurposed, gifted or ethically sourced paper and canvases. Not only does this reduce waste, it gives each original piece a special character.

As you can see, I use mixed mediums but have a soft spot for monochromatic pencils.

I love how a black-and-white palette can be bold and soft in equal measures, adds a new dimension and blends perfectly in any room.

But most of all, I love the thrill of putting a pencil to paper to create something wonderful for others to enjoy.
